Church of St. Catherine
bg

Near this church, in 1575, some young women, after long and romantic contrasts, founded a monastery under the rule of Santa Chiara of Assisi. The church was rebuilt in 1723 and placed under the patronage of the Lateran Canons, whose coat of arms remains above the entrance door. The Baroque interior has a beautiful canvas on the high altar representing the Mystical Marriage of Saint Catherine, a work attributable to Lazzaro Baldi and datable to around 1650.
