Church of Saint Charles
bg

Formerly Santa Maria de Incertis XIV-XV century In Piazza Palazzo Vecchio, the small and characteristic church of San Carlo with frescoes from the 14th and 16th centuries. Of remarkable beauty is the fourteenth-century ciborium with the painting Madonna enthroned with Child between Saints and Angels by a follower of Boccati (end of the fifteenth century) and, on the left in the niche, the Madonna enthroned between Saint Stephen and Sebastian, carefully restored by Associazione Valorizzazione Patrimonio Storico di San Gemini. The building seems to have arisen to cover an aedicule dedicated to the Virgin, with the infill of the opposite arches, while the name seems to be due to a Mass celebrated by St. Carlo Borromeo, Archbishop of Milan.
